- Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to solve user issues with effective solutions.
- Enhance the codebase for better readability and enjoyment in coding.
- Review peer code and provide mentorship to fellow developers.
- Pursue continuous learning with personalized development plans and a dedicated budget.
- Experience in web application development with Symfony or similar PHP frameworks.
- Proficiency in writing clean, well-tested code.
- Strong communication skills adaptable to varied technical levels.

📍 Location: hybrid at our office in Sheffield city centre 2 days a week, the other 3 are up to you (wfh/office)
Our mission:

- We started Goodlord because we wanted to make renting simple and transparent for everyone involved: the agent, the landlord, and the tenant. We knew Generation Rent would lead to more tenants, with higher digital expectations and we were confident we could provide a solution 🏠
- Like all scale-ups it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster journey, but we’re now stronger than ever, with around 3,000 letting agents using the platform, exciting and varied products and 350+ Goodlordians across the group supporting the mission! 💚
The Opportunity:
- Work with Product Managers, business stakeholders and other Engineers to understand end user problems and implement appropriate solutions
- Continuously improve the code base to make it easier to understand and more fun to work with
- Review the code of your colleagues
- Offer mentoring to less experienced developers
- Continuously develop your skillset via tailored professional development objectives and budget
What we need from you:
- Commercial experience in building complex web applications using Symfony (or similar PHP framework)
- Ability to write good, clean and well-tested code
- Strong communication skills and can adapt to the technical level of your audience
- Experience working in an agile team with a delivery focus
