Volunteer Recruitment Trustee - Unit Management Team

What will you be doing?

The Sea Cadets is the UK’s leading maritime charity and provides a head start in life for young people through nautical adventure and fun. Our volunteers work, both directly with young people and behind the scenes, to help make a positive difference to young people aged 10-18. Worcester Sea Cadets are currently looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer to join its Unit Management Team (UMT) to support the management, and sustainability of the unit. We are a long-established Sea Cadet Unit that has provided life-changing opportunities for many young people from the local community. About the role: Sea Cadet units are managed and run by volunteers, The Unit Management Team (UMT) are the units trustees. The UMT is responsible for the running of the unit at a strategic and management level. The primary purpose of UMT Trustees is to support the Unit chair to manage a safe, successful and sustainable Sea Cadet unit, this includes health & safety, insurance, fundraising, utilities, the unit minibus, governance, resources/equipment, charity commission and are constitutionally compliant. Our Unit Management Team meet for approx.1-2 hours on a monthly/bi-monthly basis

What are we looking for?

We are looking for new Trustees who have:

A passion for making a difference to young people and the local community Good communication skills An ability to work well with a team Previous experience in recruitment/HR or as a Trustee An understanding of how a small charity works or a willingness to learn A background of working with young people, the military or nautical experience would be useful but not essential.
