We’re looking for a generalist, who’s just as happy working on the high level strategy and messaging as they are sticking posters up on conference stands.

The charity sector is huge. In total income, it’s twice the size of the advertising, fashion and restaurant industries, combined. But it’s also extremely underserved by tech platforms to support the work they do.
That’s what we’re solving. An AI platform for all charities, particularly the smaller, local organisations. That saves them from millions of hours of bureaucracy, helps more people access their services, and supports them to get more funding.
🛠️ The product
We’re not a simple point solution. It’s a comprehensive platform, solving everything from safeguarding information, writing funding applications, taking bookings for venues/activities and statutory reporting on Government contracts.
It can be hard to explain, so we’re looking for someone to help us do that.
📈 Where we’re up to
We’re a team of 6. We have over 1,000 charities using the platform, and we’re working with funders powering £35 million worth of charitable funding annually, which is growing 4x every year.

- Charities come first. While they often don’t pay us, they are the people we need to be focusing on: supporting them to work towards their own missions more effectively. Being trusted by them is the most important thing.

- Never the delay. Things move slowly in our sector, but we're not going to be responsible for it. We need to be unreasonably fast.

📋 The role
You’ll be our first (and only!) hire specifically in growing the top of the pipeline.
Your job will be extremely varied, and give you lots of chances to really get stuck in with the details, but also to zoom out to the wider strategy and plan.
This isn’t (currently) a managerial role — you’ll need to do a lot of the hard work yourself, before we look to expand the team or bring in outside agencies.
More specifically, this is what we’ll need you to do:
Executing on what we know works:
- Conferences and events:
- Researching and creating a calendar of events in our industry we should attend. In the past, we’ve been to Solace, political party conferences, Stronger Things, LGA, SCVO’s The Gathering, etc.
- Negotiating with event organisers for sponsorship opportunities
- Designing key messages and marketing material to display and give out
- Organising and attending events — doing the boring bits: booking trains, setting up stands, printing out leaflets.
- “Thought-leadership” content:
- We infrequently publish content on our blog about the sector as a whole, going into detail about how things could work better.
- We would love to do this more frequently and to expand the content’s distribution.
- Sales collateral
- We’re constantly asked for information about the platform, and how it can help charities, Local Governments, Housing Associations or Foundations. We need this information to be up to date and to showcase what we’ve heard from existing customers.
- Working with local partners
- There are a big group of people who are happy for us to deliver webinars to local organisations, and to talk about what we can help charities with
- We don’t take them up on this often enough
Shaping a wider strategy
- Deciding and iterating on how we describe a product that delivers a lot of value, but also has a lot of different component parts
- Targeting our messaging to particular parts of the sector, and working out how best we can do that with limited resources
Testing new approaches
- Being creative with how we can draw attention to what we do, but applying a rigorous process to testing and experimenting so we can truly learn what’s working and making a difference to the company as a whole.

- Someone extremely smart, that will proactively get things done, and is happy operating in a fast-moving environment without the kinds of structure you’d expect in a larger company.

👥 Team
As a currently small team, we’re typically in-person 4 days a week, as it allows us to more quickly and easily share ideas, at a crucial stage in our development as we learn exactly what our product needs to do.
We typically work quickly, bouncing ideas of each other and try almost anything that could work. There are no true teams and we all work with each other across different projects.
The office is in Finsbury Park in North London.
