What will you be doing?
We have a strong Trustee board of seven members and the governance of our organisation is consistently audited as performing at the highest level. In consideration of succession planning, we are looking to recruit a new Trustee with recent experience of fundraising who is capable of contributing to our approach of ensuring that we can continue to serve people across the District in years to come. We are particularly interested in applicants who live or work within the Maldon District.
What are we looking for?
What are we looking for? Successful applicants will have several years of recent professional experience in fundraising . The main board meets four times a year plus an AGM, in the evenings in Maldon. Following a successful interview with the Chair of Trustees, a full induction will be given. Training is provided by Citizens Advice and you can be kept up to date through email newsletters for Trustees and attendance at Trustee forums or the annual conference. Amongst the other skills they bring to the board, a trustee will:
be committed to the aims and principles of Citizens Advice have effective communication skills and willingness to participate in discussion be able to think creatively and strategically and exercise good, independent judgment be able to work effectively as a member of a team have an understanding employment of staff and volunteers

The advisers are only able to deliver their valuable service to the community if they are led by robust board of Trustees who provide strategic direction and ensure that standards of governance are at the highest level. By volunteering to join the board, you will be helping to ensure that Maldon & District Citizens Advice can adapt to future demand and continue to provide the advice people need for the problems they face.
