  • Collaborate with product owners and peers in back-end development.
  • Engage in the full development cycle, ensuring each feature meets the Definition of Done.
  • Write clean, scalable Java code and contribute to API design.
  • Maintain and enhance Spring/Java based middleware APIs.
  • Proven experience with Java 17+, Spring, and Spring Boot.
  • Proficiency in cloud services, particularly AWS, as well as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Skilled in Hibernate, MySQL, and building APIs with JSON and XML.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful principles and Agile methodology.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience and a BSc in Computer Science.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

The Role 

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll thrive on collaborating with your peers and participating in the back-end development process with Product Owners. You’ll bring your passion for writing clean, solid code to our highly scalable system.  

The Senior Software Engineer is involved in each stage of development from requirements to final acceptance. You will be a key part of all Sprint ceremonies/meetings, and will be working as a team to ensure that each new feature matches the Definition of Done.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Requirements analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of software components including unit and integration tests as well as documentation.  
  • Writing clean, scalable, readable, and maintainable code that follows best practices to continuously deliver value in each Sprint. 
  • Definition and evolution of REST and SOAP APIs.  
  • Promotion of modular, testable, and maintainable Spring/Java based middleware APIs. 
  • Contribution to the design of applications and services.  

Required Competence and Skills

  • Strong knowledge and experience with Java 17+, Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
  • Experience running microservices in the cloud, specifically with AWS, Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience of Hibernate and relational databases including MySQL.   
  • Experience building JSON and XML based APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful principles. 
  • Experience working in an Agile (Scrum) environment. 
  • Experience using Git/GitLab managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on work experience.  
  • BSc in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken.
