What will you be doing?
As a R&D Team Lead, your responsibilities in this voluntary role include, but are not limited to:
Leadership and day to day management of the Research & Data Team and its sub-groups Supporting People Partner in recruitment volunteers in your tea, managing and inspiring those with the knowledge and skills to review existing scientific evidence and for the CFK interventions Oversee research design methodologies and protocols, collect and analyse data ethically and with sufficient scientific robustness Organising and leading regular team meetings as required (admin assistance can be provided for this) Actively participating in the CFK Team Leader (TL) meetings as required by the CFK Leadership Team. Identifying needs, supporting and helping the team members with resources and challenges that they will have, from time to time. Anticipating and initiating the need for support and input from the CFK Advisory Board (AB), University connections and partnerships, and other experts, as required, to ensure the team goals are met and that CFK has the required technical and scientific status to be able to publish results of the interventions. Working collaborately with the other CFK teams - specifically the various Delivery Teams who are responsible for delivering the interventions and providing data collection opportunities. Collaboration Working collaboratively with other key people across the project, as well as external partners as required Attending and making positive contributions in internal CFK Meetings, including the monthly CFK Club Meeting, The Welcome Meeting, Team Meetings and other meetings as required
What are we looking for?
Experience / Skills
Proficient in survey design and implementation methodologies. Experience working in public health nutrition or a related field. Experience in analysing survey data for nutrition or related research topics, with demonstrated fluency working in the R environment. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and draw insights from survey data. (Desirable) Solid knowledge of statistical analysis software, such as SPSS, SAS or R. (Desirable) Proficient in data cleaning and validation techniques. Familiarity with research ethics and data privacy regulations. Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges in survey design and data analysis. Excellent attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy and quality of survey data. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey survey findings and recommendations. Fluency in English is essential. Previous experience of working for Charities and/or volunteer organisations is desirable but not required. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software for data analysis and visualisation.

What difference will you make?
There is scope to expand this role as appropriate and desired. Ideally, we would ask volunteers to commit to taking roles for a duration of the project which is expected to last 2+ years, however, the monthly and weekly time commitment to this role, and its responsibilities, is flexible and needs to suit the volunteer. For volunteers who don’t have leadership/Team Lead roles, we ask for a minimum of 5-7 hours per week (on average), which some weeks may be more and some less.
