Role Summary
- Develop new features for Lyst's e-commerce platform, both front and backend.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to drive product strategy.
- Work on the technical aspects of our Editorial features and services for our mobile app and website.
- Take ownership of features throughout the development cycle, from planning to deployment.
Role Requirements
- Proficient in Django/Python and React, along with a solid understanding of web fundamentals.
- Experience with automated testing and unit testing is crucial.
- Strong communication skills to share ideas and plans with the team effectively.
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for writing clean, well-tested, and robust code.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, such as CircleCI, is a plus.

We're looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join us and help Lyst build and grow our product. You will work closely with our current engineers, designers, growth and product managers to develop new product features and help us execute our product strategy.
As a member of the BEAM (Brand, Editorial & Ad Media) squad you’ll be working on our member experience mission. The team is responsible for the technical side of our Editorials - curated fashion feeds on the cutting edge of the industry along with services that support the Lyst mobile app and e-commerce website. The role will be to work on projects across both the frontend and backend.
What will you be working on?
- Building new and maintaining existing features (frontend and backend) and functionality for our e-commerce platform.
- Localisation preparation
- Refactoring existing areas of React in the frontend and python in the backend
- Understanding business requirements to improve monitoring
- Integration with other APIs and services internal and external
- Documenting and being accountable for the stability of the system
- Owning a feature from planning to deployment
- You’ll primarily be working with Python (Django) for the Backend and Javascript (Typescript & React) for the frontend
- We are fully AWS hosted, using a range of tools and setups: ECS, Docker, CircleCI, Postgresql, Redis, SQS, SNS
- Collaborating with product managers, web and app engineers to help execute on product vision and drive value for our business
- Scaling, improving and maintaining our system for sending push notification and emails to our customers
Requirements
- Good experience with Django/Python and web fundamentals
- Understanding of React, modern JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Good experience with web fundamentals
- Communication: You are able to communicate clearly and be humble when sharing ideas with everyone on the team. You are able to explain your ideas clearly and transform them into plans. You are able to design the solution to a complex problem.
- You try to write code that is readable by everyone, well tested and robust in production
- You are willing to refactor existing code in favour of working around shortcoming
- A thorough knowledge of automated testing, particularly unit testing
- Bonus: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines i.e. CircleCI etc.
