About Marshmallow We started Marshmallow when we found out how unfair insurance prices are for people who move to the UK. We saw an opportunity to do things differently, so we made it our mission to back the ones who step outside the norm. We serve people that are often overlooked by financial services companies, solving important problems for people who need it most.
The Role As a Commercial Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for negotiating, drafting and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts, helping create scalable processes for managing legal risk at a group level, reviewing, updating and improving procedures to ensure compliance within our regulatory framework, and advising on regulatory matters involving the FCA and other bodies.
Job Requirements You will be between 2 and 4 years PQE, ideally have a mix of private practice and in house experience (fintech startups/scale up experience preferable - including being on a secondment). Experience working in either insurance or financial services is preferable. You should be able to identify relevant business, regulatory and legal risks and find appropriate solutions.
Benefits We offer hybrid working, a competitive bonus scheme, flexible benefits budget, sabbatical leave, work from anywhere policy, mental wellbeing support, learning and development opportunities, private health care, medical cash plan, tech scheme, 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), pension, cycle to work scheme, and monthly team socials.
Application Details Our process involves an initial call with a member of our Talent Acquisition Team, a skill-based interview with Euan Cameron (Senior Legal Counsel) and Clem Patman (Head of Compliance), and a culture interview to check that your work style fits our processes and values. Background checks will be carried out to meet our regulatory obligations as an FCA-authorised financial services company.
