Role Summary:

Role Requirements:

  • Proven consultancy skills in managing change and leading business transformations.
  • Expertise in data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) and analytics solutions.

  • Proficiency in database management, warehousing tools, data orchestration, and ETL tools.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and guide teams.
  • Strategic thinking with the capability to translate business strategy into scalable data solutions.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate and influence across organizational levels.
  • Contributions to the data community through thought leadership are highly regarded.

We’re the strategic payments partner for some of the best known fast-moving brands globally such as Wise, Hut Group, Sony Electronics, Homebase, Henkel, Klarna and many others.

The Role At Checkout, we’re rethinking how we “do data”. We’re on the lookout for a Staff Data Architect to join our Data Platform team; a pivotal position that will play a key role in driving this change and ensuring teams are reaping the benefits. You will take a lead role in refining and advocating for scalable data products that empower the business, ensuring our data platforms and processes support current and future business needs.

Job Requirements Strong Consultancy Skills: Track record of working in a consultancy or advisory role, managing change initiatives, and leading business transformations in large organisations. Analytical and Data Modeling Expertise: Strong expertise in data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical) and analytics solutions Data Governance and Quality: Deep understanding of data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and the regulatory landscape affecting data (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). Technological Expertise: Proficiency in relevant data concepts, including but not limited to: Stream processing Database management and warehousing tools (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks) Data orchestration and ETL tools (Airflow, DBT, Informatica) Leadership and Mentorship: Experience leading data oriented teams and mentoring junior engineer and analysts. Strategic Thinking: Able to translate business strategy into effective data solutions that scale with growth. Collaboration and Influence: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence at all levels of the organisation. Thought Leadership: We value thought leadership, so any contributions to the data community through articles, talks, conferences, or meetups are a bonus.

Benefits Hybrid Working Model: All of our offices globally are onsite 3 times per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). We’ve worked towards enabling teams to work collaboratively in the same space, while also being able to partner with colleagues globally.
