THE ROLE

The Head of Due Diligence will lead the development and implementation of technical due diligence frameworks and standards for Climate Impact Partners, ensuring scalable and consistent quality across all carbon projects and methodologies. They will oversee a due diligence team and be responsible for driving operational efficiency and ensuring robust, auditable processes and outcomes. The individual will take full ownership and accountability for these areas, while also being responsible for delivering projects on time and meeting quality metrics.
As we work to meet the needs of our clients, you will work closely with teams across the business from Global Supply Chain to Client Solutions, and, where needed, with carefully selected external technical specialists to deliver best-in-class due diligence and enable robust, informed decision making by the Due Diligence Committee. This will involve providing insights on market trends such as the Core Carbon Principles and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to communicate project benefits and risks simply and clearly.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Frameworks & Processes
- Define the frameworks, standards and processes for Climate Impact Partners’ technical due diligence on projects we are sourcing and developing in the market across all geographies and methodologies, enabling scalable, robust and consistent application of standards across our portfolio;
- Provide input to our strategy on the project types and methodologies we should be targeting (all possible project types – through to engineered solutions), which standards we should accept, reviewing new methodologies and methodologies under review, based on your knowledge of the evolving methodologies, industry standards and monitoring approaches;
- Work with Client Solutions and Marketing to establish measured, clear and robust ways to communicate project benefits and risks to clients;
- Supporting client sales processes from responding technical DD queries to helping facilitate delivery of project issuances;
- Contribution to thought leadership across the business regarding matters of quality and integrity.
Execution and Delivery
- Manage and continually improve the end-to-end due diligence process, defining and tracking key metrics to enable an efficient and effective workflow;
- Work with the digital team to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, auditability and enable value adding client propositions;
- Ensure delivery of robust, auditable and timely technical DD recommendations on projects, escalating and presenting to the senior DD Committee as appropriate, making good, risk-based recommendations at the right time;
- Manage and continue to develop a team of 2 (at present) and an extended team of technical experts carrying out specialist, detailed DD, identifying additional resource needs as the business evolves;
- Carry out in-depth DD work from time-to-time as needed on more complex projects/meths;
- When specialist consultant support is required, identify those consultants and work scope and manage contracting and delivery;
- Work closely with Legal & Compliance on derogatory information searches as part of the end-to-end DD process.
Industry Positioning
- Work closely with other technical experts in the company to help define company responses and positions on relevant industry topics;
- Support and deliver webinars, podcasts, newsletters to our client and partner communities, demonstrating our marketing-leading capabilities and insights;
- Participate in industry technical advisory and working groups with the aim of providing experience-led influence and bringing insights into Climate Impact Partners.

- Experience in managing an effective workflow process;

- Good commercial instincts, enabling effective recommendations in a commercial context;
