What will you be doing?
You will be working alongside our established fundraising team to secure much needed funding for our charity. They have a successful track record of securing grants and running crowdfunding campaigns. The charity has grown quickly in the last 2 years, with more otters needing rehabilitation coming through our doors this year than ever before, so a new fundraising team member is needed for the charity to keep up with the growth. Our fundraising team has regular communication via Whatsapp and semi-regular video calls where everyone is kept up to date and ideas and opinions are requested and shared. Your main role will be researching and completing grants and monitoring our fundraising email inbox. Hours:Everyone in our fundraising team has a full time job outside of their volunteer work with UKWOT and volunteer their hours where possible and necessary. There are no restrictions when volunteer hours are carried out. We are looking for someone who can commit to at least 5 hours a week, however variations can be discussed. Location: This position is remote and would require you to have access to a computer and internet access. Pay:This position is voluntary and is unpaid. Everyone within the charity is unpaid.
What are we looking for?
Someone who is passionate about animals and conservation. Someone who has experience with fundraising for charities, in particular completing grant applications would be beneficial. Someone who has excellent communication skills.
What difference will you make?
We receive an increasing number of cubs per year due to a number of reasons, with over 30 animals a year now commonplace, and aim to care for those in need, and aim to rehabilitate them in order to release them back into the wild. It costs £3500 to rehabilitate one otter cub so every pound raised makes a huge difference.
