Our vision is to be the procurement services partner of choice for the education sector and through our work, help the education sector enhance teaching and learning. We do this by delivering great-value professional procurement services to the education and wider public sector. We then gift surplus reserves generated by the Charity back to the education sector to fund a variety of projects to enhance teaching, learning and the student experience. This means our customers can benefit twice from our service. Essentially, we want to keep education sector money, within the education sector. The backbone to how we operate, as a Board of Trustees and our employees, are our values. These are; People Orientated, Supportive, Collaborative, Professional, Customer Focused. Trustees play a vital role in providing strategic direction and strong governance, as well as supporting the work of the leadership team. Our Trustees have independent control of the Charity and are committed to providing the highest standards of governance and guidance. The Trustees have a responsibility to understand the environment in which the Charity is operating and to lead the Charity in fulfilling its purpose, they are responsible for protecting the Charity’s best interest and oversee the management, strategic planning and accountability Job requirements We are seeking Trustees with high-level skills and experience from all sectors to help drive our Charity forward. We are particularly keen to strengthen the Board with experience and skills in Finance, or in IT/Cyber Security/AI  or in Legal within an Education or Procurement / Contract Management. CPC place social value at the heart of everything we do. As a registered charity, one of CPC’s greatest assets is our commitment to ‘Giving Back to the Education Sector’, we believe this is what sets us apart from our peers and makes us unique. Since 2019, CPC has designated over £1.56 million of reserves to several projects providing free or subsidised services to our members. £1.3 million of this designated reserve has been allocated to a grant fund which provides non-refundable grants to schools, academies, colleges and universities throughout the UK. To date, approximately £750k has been awarded to 134 educational institutions to assist them in their own projects and initiatives for enhancing teaching and learning within their organisation. Since Giving Back’s inception, funding has supported a wide range of educational projects fulfilling our criteria of:

Enhancing teaching and learning Improving a child's experience of education Helping disadvantaged children

Announced in July 2024,the charity's Giving Back initiative is going to have a renewed focus on:

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Wellbeing Absenteeism

Our Trustees play a big role in delivering our 'Giving Back'. They have independent control of the Charity and are committed to providing the highest standards of governance and guidance. The Board approves the Vision and overall strategic plan proposed by the Leadership team and ensures its effective delivery. The Trustees have a responsibility to understand the environment in which the Charity is operating and to lead the Charity in fulfilling its purpose as effectively as possible with the resources available. The Trustees protect the Charity’s best interest and oversee the management, strategic planning and accountability.
