What will you be doing?

What will you be doing? Cambridge Money Advice Centre (CMAC) changes lives by providing free, face to face debt advice to people struggling with unmanageable debt. It is a well-established Charity that has supported many hundreds of people in debt since its foundation in 2004. Its highly trained volunteer debt advisers provide in-person, regulated debt advice that helps clients resolve complex personal debt situations. Many of those it helps are unable to access other forms of debt advice which are now mainly available online or by phone. As a Trustee you would attend Board meetings and work alongside the other Trustees to ensure the charity continues to thrive and adheres to relevant rules and regulations. There are four Trustee meetings a year which are held in person at our office in Cambridge, while almost all other Trustee activity can be conducted remotely.  A full overview of CMAC’s activities is given in its annual report which is available on its website. General Trustee Responsibilities CMAC is seeking an additional Trustee to join its Board which is responsible for the charity’s strategic direction and governance.

Attend quarterly trustee meetings, normally in person at CMAC’s offices in Cambridge With other trustees, contribute to the good governance of MAC which includes contributing to policies, strategic direction and operational matters Supporting specific tasks, for example helping the team review the budget, edit communications or prepare a report – around 2 to 4 hours a month
