Role Requirements:University degree in Environmental Management, Sustainability, Engineering, Business, Management, Finance, or related fields with a sustainability focus.Minimum one year of relevant experience in portfolio management, consulting, or related areas.Proficient in CRM, Excel/Google Sheets with excellent analytical skills.Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced international environment.Fluency in Spanish and English; proficiency in Portuguese is beneficial.Keen understanding of carbon markets and global sustainability issues is preferred.

Job summary:
In this role, you will be part of our Carbon Portfolio Offering & Procurement team, which focuses on meeting the growing demand for climate action (for example, financing emission reduction projects) and optimizing the portfolio of carbon credits. You will be responsible for preparing carbon credit proposals and providing additional support to key account managers and business developers (for example, in depth project specific responses to client questions).
You will also lead regional Carbon Procurement for the Latin America region. You will provide guidance and direction to the regional team, to ensure they effectively execute our global Projects & Markets strategy within the region. You will develop business with project developers, retailers, intermediaries and wholesale companies active in carbon markets.
Main tasks & responsibilities:
You will support the key account management team regarding carbon project portfolios for their leads and clients.
Support optimization of South Pole’s carbon offset portfolio.
Coordinate with other members of the Carbon Portfolio Offering team globally and with colleagues in other carbon portfolio funcion.
Develop knowledge of company-wide procedures and processes.
Closely follow voluntary carbon market developments and support the team in gathering market intelligence.
Originate, structure and close new deals in carbon credits with project owners, retailers, intermediaries, trading and wholesale companies
Create a strategic and compelling portfolio of carbon projects for meeting the demand of our broad set of corporate and public sector clientsCollaborate with Key Account Managers to understand the clients’ needs for certificates and provide market-related feedback
Support role forproject marketing team to collect key data from project documents to translate into project marketing assets
Requirements:
Essential -
You have at least a University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Environmental Management, Sustainability) or a broader field with evidence of a focus on environmental or sustainability issues (e.g. Engineering, Business/Management/Finance).
You have at least one year of relevant work experience in portfolio management, consulting or similar areas.
You have intermediate IT skills, especially regarding CRM, Excel and/or Google Sheets and excellent analytical skills (intermediate level of numeracy and financial literacy)
Outstanding interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively with key internal and external stakeholders
Comfortable operating globally in a fast-paced high-growth international environment
Fluent in Spanish and English
Desirable -
Experience in carbon markets
Proficiency in Portuguese
Broad understanding of global sustainability issues
Experience working with a multicultural and ethnically diverse global company
