- Manage and operate Telemetry, Tracking and Command (TT&C) stations within the ESTRACK network.

The European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) is seeking an intern for the ESTRACK Stations and Infrastructure Section, Mission Operations Department. This position is based in Darmstadt, Germany.
The role involves managing, operating, and maintaining the Telemetry, Tracking and Command (TT&C) stations of the ESA tracking station network (ESTRACK), ensuring its integrity, and interfacing with other operational entities for the provision of non-ESA TT&C station support. The intern will also be responsible for the management, operation, and maintenance of the Operations Control Centre facilities at ESOC, and for providing station and network support to other agencies and external customers as required.
The main objective of this activity is to enhance the engineer and operator experience with the Central Station Management and Control (CSMC) system software at the Kiruna Station. The intern will gain a comprehensive understanding of ground station components, including antenna control units and radio frequency (RF) components, and develop hands-on experience with software interface design and improvement.
Candidates must be university students, preferably in their final or second-to-last year of a university course at Master’s level and need to remain enrolled at their University for the entire duration of the internship. A good knowledge of English or French is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset. Experience with Linux operating system and coding is an asset. Knowledge of JIRA, GIT or other software configuration control is an asset.
