What will you be doing?
The Learning without Limits Academy Trust is seeking a volunteer to serve as Trustees on our Board of Trustees. As a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) Trustee, you will be one of the directors of the company and will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction, governance, and overall success of the Trust. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the education and well-being of young people in the communities that we serve. You will work with fellow trustees to fulfil the purpose of the Trust Board:
strategic leadership – defining the vision, fostering the trust’s culture and setting the strategy accountability and assurance – robust and effective oversight of trust operations and performance engagement – strategic oversight of relationships with stakeholders, ensuring decision-making is supported by meaningful engagement
The successful candidate will be passionate about making a tangible difference in children’s lives, particularly those facing educational and social disadvantage in the Midlands. Time Commitment The role of a Trustee typically involves attending regular meetings and dedicating time to prepare for those meetings, as well as occasional additional commitments as needed. The main Board meets five times per year. There will also be an expectation that the Trustee would join one of the Board's Committees, which each meet an additional three times per year. The majority of meetings take place on weekday evenings between 5 - 7.30pm. Currently all meetings are hybrid, with a mixture of online/in person participation. Trustees are appointed on a four year term. This role is unremunerated, however reasonable, pre-agreed travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Applicants could come from a range of backgrounds provided they have operated at a strategic level and support the ethos and values of the Trust. Fundamentally, applicants must be people-oriented leaders with a gift for fostering engagement and collaboration and getting the best out of diverse groups of people. We are however particularly interested in recruiting an individual with experience in the education sector.
