We curate small-group e-bike and walking adventures in Europe and Africa, focusing on regions often overlooked by other tour operators. Opportunity
We are looking for a number of highly capable, natural hosts with a flair for superb hospitality for the 2025 season in Transylvania (Romania), Zagori (Greece), the Mani Peninsula (Greece), Crete (Greece), Abruzzo (Italy), the Basque Country (Spain), Coa Valley (Portugal), Yerevan (Armenia), and Antalya (Turkey). As an In-Country Host with The Slow Cyclist, you'll be the face of our unique travel experiences, ensuring our guests have an unforgettable journey. You will work with local guides to create lasting memories for our discerning travellers.
The Season
Our European season spans from March to October, with each destination offering two peak periods: spring/summer and autumn. A mid-season break typically occurs in late July/August.

- Zagori, Greece: May – July & September – October
- Mani, Greece: April – June & September – October
- Crete: April – June & September – October
- Taurus Mountains, Turkey: April – June & September – October
- Abruzzo, Italy: May – June & September – October
- Basque Country, Spain: May – June & September – October
- Coa Valley, Portugal: April - May & October
- Armenia: June & September - October
There are opportunities to work:
- Half Season (spring or autumn)
- Full Season (break mid-season around August)
- Full Season (no mid-season break)
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring the high level of service expected by TSC guests is maintained throughout the 2025 season.
- Hosting our guests throughout their time with us.
- Collaborate closely with our English-speaking local guides, fostering strong communication between them and our UK office.
- Managing the trip you are hosting (i.e. ensuring all trip elements are ready, organising the guides, driving the support vehicle, ensuring all guest bags move to the next guest house, picking up cyclists who want a break, assisting laying tables for picnics etc.)
Skills & Experience
- A passion for delivering world-class travel experiences and genuine hospitality.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine enthusiasm for cultural exploration and connecting with people from diverse backgrounds.
- A proactive and positive "can-do" attitude.
- A good level of physical fitness.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- The ability to think on your feet and solve problems effectively.
- Experience in the hospitality or service industry is a plus.
- A clear understanding of The Slow Cyclist brand and values (following a comprehensive briefing).
- An EU passport holder is preferred.
- A valid EU/UK driving licence.
- First Aid training (training provided if needed).

While this is a seasonal contract, we value exceptional individuals and are always eager to explore long-term opportunities within our team.
Salary £2,000 per month
