Job Title: Business Development Manager 

Reports To: Head of Partnerships  

Contract Type: Full time  

Hours: 37.5 hours per week 

Location of Role: Hybrid working, 2-3 days per week in (Central London) office  

Remuneration: £41,250 (uncapped) OTE

Purpose of the Role:

Pathway CTM is a growing, socially purposed business, that informs and supports school-leavers with the first step into their career. Our business has recently merged with The Learning People, which has seen our team and impact grow. As a result of this merge, we are now involved in supporting career changers into the workforce too!  

  

Pathway CTM work with a range of multi-national brands, across multiple sectors, who have a vested interest in making their workforces more diverse and inclusive. There are also education relationships that support our Programme, where we deliver bespoke projects. This role will be setting up new partnerships, exploring both employer and education revenue opportunities.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • To be part of a growing Partnerships Team in building new relationships with organisations who want to impact and support diverse talent into employment opportunities.  
  • This role will be focused on new revenues and opportunities for school-leavers into apprenticeships + work experiences, and there may be opportunities to develop routes for career changers too. 
  • You will work closely with Account Managers from Education and Employer teams, who will deliver the services you have set up for in your partnerships. 
  • This role will report into Head of Partnerships and could scale in many different ways, as you will be exposed different sectors and potential partners.  

  

Essential skills:

  • Commercially astute with creativity to see an opportunity for potential clients. 
  • You have the confidence to hit the ground running and begin prospecting new potential clients straight away, as you learn while doing throughout your induction. 
  • You have 2+ years of working within the education / employment sector. 
  • You enjoy building deep and authentic relationships, knowing that you can make a real difference in this role.  

Desirable skills:

  • An understanding of the Early Years Recruitment market (apprenticeships / education). 
  • A passion for improving the way young people are supported into the labour market, through education, guidance and support. 
  • You have been involved in education in your career, as we would like someone with credibility of understanding and adding value to conversations related to education, skills and employment.  
  • Diversity and Inclusion knowledge, awareness, or interest. 
  • Lived experience – you might have done an apprenticeship or are a career changer!

  • You are solutions focused and driven to find ways to hit and exceed your revenue targets. 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and to organise, prioritise, and plan work effectively. 
  • Likes to work hard and give your all to a job and are easy to trust to manage your own diary due to your proactive attitude.
