Head of People Operations and Change

Save the Children UK is seeking a dynamic HR leader to join our team as the Head of People Operations and Change. This role is a maternity cover contract for approximately 14 months, starting in early March 2026.

The role: As the Head of People Operations and Change, you will collaborate closely with the Director of People to strategically evolve the People function. Your responsibilities will include delivering high-impact, customer-centered services, leading organizational change, and embedding agile methodologies to enhance our effectiveness and impact on children's lives. You will champion digital transformation in HR, focusing on automation, AI tools, and self-service solutions to improve the employee experience and operational performance.

Job requirements: To succeed in this role, you should have significant experience in HR operations and people transformation, including managing large-scale change programs and restructures. A strong understanding of digital HR systems and technologies is crucial, as is experience in leading system implementations and innovation initiatives. You should also have a solid grasp of employment law, risk mitigation, and people-centered change delivery. Experience in engaging with trade unions and developing HR Business Partners into strategic talent and change leaders is essential.

Additional Information: This role allows for remote work within the UK, with occasional required visits to your contracted office based on team and service needs. Please note that travel costs to the office are not reimbursed. We encourage discussing flexible working options during your interview.
