- Develop and enhance chemical processes for our state-of-the-art power-to-fuel machine.
- Engage in system architecture design and process simulation.
- Implement process control strategies, including PID/SCADA, and oversee plant operation.
- Create and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct rigorous testing and analysis to streamline plant design.
- Ensure the highest safety standards through management and risk assessment.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the field.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemical engineering or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in CAD and control systems.
- Demonstrable experience in process plant design and operation.
- Real-world problem-solving and ability to apply first principles reasoning.
- A sense of urgency and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Determination and resilience to overcome challenges.

Rivan Industries (Rivan.com) is a synthetic fuel company designed to decarbonise heavy industry. We’ve developed a unique power-to-fuel machine built for low-capex deployment powered entirely by utility-scale solar. Here’s our entire business plan. We already have operating modules of our machine, we’re funded, and we’re now building out the team to bring the vision together and deploy at scale.
We aim to make synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels and sustain life on earth by keeping the CO2 locked underground. We’re looking for a Process engineer to design, optimise and operate our chemical processes. The role:
- Overall system architecture design
- Review and iterate component selection and plant design
- Process simulation
- Process control (e.g PID / SCADA)
- Plant Operation
- Documentation /SOPs of plant
- Conduct testing and analysis on current plant to simplify design
- Safety management of plant
- Risk assessment
- Safety Integrity Level (SIL) analysis
- Monitoring
Core skills:
- 3+ years professional experience
- Bachelor’s or Masters in chemical engineering or related field
- CAD and control system experience
- Process plant design and operation experience

- Execution history. What have you built, designed or had full responsibility before? Doing stuff in the real world matters.
- Reasoning by first principles. Can you de-convolute complex scenarios into their foundational truths or parts?
