What difference will you make?
Empower to Cook CIC is at an exciting point in its history. Funding from the Rothschilds Foundation, Local Government, Public Health plus working with schools and community groups supports our work at the Community Cooking & Wellbeing Kitchen and wider community in High Wycombe and beyond. The aim is to encourage more people - children to adults across all communities - to feel confident about cooking healthy, seasonal and affordable meals. A report by Sheffield University identified High Wycombe as a 'food insecurity' hotspot with one in three people struggling to access food. Various organisations including Food Banks, Buckinghamshire Council and community groups are working together with Empower to Cook CIC to enable access to good food and the opportunity to explore how to make healthy, tasty meals on a budget. To be successful Empower to Cook CIC needs an experienced bookkeeper to keep financial records up-to-date, to monitor cashflow and produce monthly financial reports for consideration by the directors of the CIC. Funders expect regular reports and the financial aspects are important.
