What will you be doing?
We’re urgently looking for a Volunteer Coordinator and Internship/Placement Manager Volunteer for our Community Interest Company. We need help to:
Meet the continued increases in demand for our therapeutic service. Realise our ambition of being a service for our community and beyond. Help us to broaden and develop out-reach provision at nurseries, schools, colleges and organisations, as well as in-home sessions (and upcoming base).
We’d love a Volunteer Therapist or Counsellor experienced in face to face and remote working with the volunteers and interns who make sure our children, young people and family’s service runs smoothly and meets our aims. Alongside us, you’ll:
Be committed to supporting the volunteers and interns in a wide range of roles at Cocoon Kids CIC. Source and recruit volunteers through various techniques (databases, e-mail, social media etc.), including our established channels. Build strong relationships with volunteers and interns. Be experienced in working effectively with volunteers and interns - and have insightful and comprehensive understanding of barriers which they may encounter. Offer individual and/or small group volunteer or intern placement management. Be competent in applying coaching skills and managing group dynamics. Be competent to advise and share support strategies and approaches. Disseminate information for upcoming actions and events. Write brief overview or end reports, where appropriate. Provide summaries and feedback to our Directors, as appropriate Εnsure the purpose of Cocoon Kids CIC and its actions is clearly communicated.

Has the ability to quickly understand the needs and challenges faced by our volunteers and interns, and our organisation. Uses procedures to make sure that our service is accessible. Feedback ways that our volunteers and interns, and our service can further improve. Has excellent time management, multitasking and prioritisation strategies to ensure our day-to-day runs smoothly.
Skills
Experience as operations manager or similar position Experience in management of volunteers Experience in recruiting through various channels Working knowledge of databases and MS Office (especially Excel) Able to communicate effectively with diverse people Excellent organisational and team coordination abilities BSc/BA in business administration, human resources, social studies or relevant field will be appreciated Self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative essential.
Specific skills and experience We expect all of our team to have knowledge and experience in the following areas:
Mental health and wellbeing challenges and its impact. Living with or have experience of socio-economic deprivation and/or marginalised communities. Understanding of the impact that housing insecurity may bring to a child, young person and their family’s mental health and wellbeing.
