What will you be doing?
Cocoon Kids - Creative Counselling and Play Therapy CIC facilitates fully-funded therapeutic sessions with priority children, young people and their families. We’re urgently looking for an experienced social media marketer to work with us as we respond to Covid-19. Our community already has free school meals even before the pandemic, the cost of living crisis further exacerbates their daily challenges. We would like the volunteer to:
Perform a social media audit: Assess the current state of our social media pages and make recommendations on how we might improve our presence and engagement and where we might focus our efforts. Help us develop and/or carry out social media campaigns around mental health, wellbeing, and equity, and support/activities that promote wellness in other ways e.g. local family days out,other local/regional/national services Provide guidance/strategy on how we can manage our social media on an ongoing basis e.g. using a centralised tool, creating a content calendar, identifying easy and free graphic tools and images Produce fresh and engaging content for our social media channels Prepare graphics for sharing across channels Engage with our followers and encourage interaction Manage and maintain social media channels on a regular basis
You’ll be working with our Directors who’ll provide our existing brand/style guidelines and brand research/user personas, as well as the feedback from our families and any other professionals who use our service. What are we looking for?
Description We’re looking for a volunteer who has experience:
Writing and editing marketing content for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Pinterest / across all platforms Building strategies to increase social media following and /or build fundraising or awareness campaigns Developing a coherent brand voice for social media, from content creation to community interactions Using and setting up tools such as Canva, or Hootsuite, Social Sprout etc. Creating content calendars to help plan social media activity
The volunteer should also have/be
Responsive with customer experience (our community) Accuracy and attention to detail Ability to quickly understand the needs of our team / organisation / users Can ask key questions to enable us to clarify requirements Understands the resource constraints of a small organisation and is able to work with these Open to feedback

Specific skills and experience We expect all of our team to have knowledge and experience in the following areas:
Mental health and wellbeing challenges and its impact Living with or have experience of socio-economic deprivation and/or marginalised communities Understanding of the impact that housing insecurity may bring to a child, young person and their family’s mental health and wellbeing.
