What will you be doing?

Hurst Farm Regeneration Limited, trading as Hurst Farm Wild Works, is a charitable community benefit society established in 2022. We want to improve the lives and environment of people living on the Hurst Farm Estate in Matlock, Derbyshire.   We are working closely with Derbyshire Dales District Council on the delivery of the £1.2m National Lottery Heritage Fund funded Hurst Farm Heritage Trail project which is expected to run until the end of 2026.  The project aims to improve the existing footpaths around the Hurst Farm Woodland, connecting four heritage sites. We have been mentored by The Green Estate Community Interest Company, who have 25-years experience of building successful national social enterprises on the Manor Estate in Sheffield. We are interested in recruiting additional trustees to strengthen the Society’s existing Board which is responsible for areas such as governance, strategic planning, financial oversight, risk management and delivery of the organisation's mission and values. Your experience may have been gained in the private, public and/or charitable sectors. You do not need previous experience as a trustee. All trustee roles are voluntary positions.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for people who can offer knowledge, skills or experience in any of the following areas:

Local residents to act as representatives of the Hurst Farm community Financial management (we need a Treasurer)

What difference will you make?

Local residents are working with us to achieve our mission through a range of practical outdoor activities including woodland management, a community garden, dry-stone walling and bee-keeping.   Our volunteer programmes help to improve skills and wellbeing for local people.   Our aim is to create financial sustainability through the delivery of viable social enterprises on Hurst Farm, which are owned and operated by local people.
