What will you be doing?
Role Overview: The Online Teacher Mentor will work one-on-one with Saharawi teachers to strengthen their teaching abilities in English, pedagogy, classroom management, communication fluency with kids, vocabulary building and IT skills. Mentors are instrumental in empowering local teachers to provide high-quality, interactive education for refugee children. Key Responsibilities:
Assess mentee skills and set specific, professional development goals. Provide targeted advice on classroom challenges and new teaching strategies. Stay informed on curriculum and/or workshop content to deliver relevant, tailored support. Recommend resources for mentees’ ongoing professional growth.
Time Commitment:
Minimum of eight weekly sessions (1-2 hours per session) from September to April
What are we looking for?
Qualifications:
Teaching degree or TEFL/TESL certification + teacher mentoring experience Expert level fluency in English Experience teaching or mentoring in remote, underserved, or multicultural settings (preferred) Strong adaptability and communication skills
