What will you be doing?

Reach Out for Mental Health are a suicide prevention charity working towards reducing the number of attempted and completed suicides in Essex. We need help with everything from promoting and growing our social media presence to developing a publicity and marketing strategy. We want to hear from the experts. We need to hear what you think we should be doing to develop our brand. We want to grow our followers, attract some celebrity support and ambassadors, increase awareness of what we do so people know where to get support when they need it.  We can only do what we do because of the amazing volunteers we have - and we need more! We want to be a charity people are queuing to work with.

What are we looking for?

If you feel you can help with even some of the things listed below, we’d really love to hear from you so please email us and we’ll arrange a chat.    We're looking for someone with the following: Proven experience working within marketing, communications, PR, content creation, managing social media or similar Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills. The ability to use content management systems, social media platforms, web analytic tools, and digital marketing methods.  Proficiency in content creation tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Canva.  Attention to detail and problem-solving skills An interest in mental health/suicide prevention To bring fresh ideas and perspective to how we engage with the community. Lived experience of either suicidal thoughts, bereavement by suicide, personal mental health challenges or experience supporting someone else with mental health problems is preferable.

What difference will you make?

Demand for our services has increased by 40% since 2023 and we want to meet that demand by increasing our bank of volunteers to take those calls from individuals struggling with life or having thoughts of suicide. We want to grow the number of peer led coffee groups in Essex so there’s one in every town, meaning anyone who needs a coffee and a chat with some like-minded folk doesn’t need to travel far to get there.    Most importantly we want to ensure every person in Essex knows we’re here! Whether that is an individual who’s personally struggling to get through the day or it’s a wife, brother or friend who’s concerned about someone. It’s critical they know where to find help when they need it.   Can you help us with this?  You will need to be comfortable and confident to work independently but meet with the Founder to collaborate once a fortnight for around an hour, this can be done remotely.     Time commitment will be a minimum of 4 hours a week. If you can do more that’s awesome!
