Volunteer HR Volunteer

What will you be doing?

We would like our HR Volunteer to help us with: 

Supporting and advising the Board and Charity Manager in matters of HR strategy as the charity grows.  Contract writing  Recruitment, particularly of trustees and staff members.   Development and review of HR policies for the charity. Ensure policies are always up to date  Support staff personal development  Any other appropriate duties related to the HR role.  

We are hoping with the right HR volunteer, they may also want to become our Trustee.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a volunteer who has experience of: 

Managing recruitment processes – ideally for both employees and volunteers  Writing effective employment contracts – for employees and contractors  Writing, reviewing and enhancing HR policies  Ideally, experience of developing a volunteer strategy  Ideally, experience of supporting a chief executive and leadership team in the development of people strategies.  Understanding of good HR practices and law.  Comprehension of legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of charity trusteeship and governance. 

We are looking for a volunteer who is aligned with AWN's mission to help not for profits that are working with the rich and diverse Muslim communities living in the UK.  You do not have to be a Muslim to apply for this role but respectful of the culture and practices of the Islamic/Muslim faith.
