  • Coordinate and manage the operational aspects of the Young Lions program.
  • Plan Young Lions training camps and oversee budget and safeguarding responsibilities.

PURPOSE

The post holder will work closely with the Performance Operations Manager to deliver outstanding operational and administration support across three priority areas: - 

  • England Young Lions 

  • ECB Performance Centre 

  • Identified performance project support 

This role requires strong organisation skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Applicants must possess advanced IT skills and computer literacy, including MS office and databases. 

The post holder will be based at the ECB Performance Centre at Loughborough University and will have a responsibility to fulfil a range of administrative tasks relating to the activities of the England Men’s Player Pathway. This will require close liaison with both the Performance Director and the Pathway Leadership Team. The position will involve evening and weekend work throughout the year, and potentially some UK/overseas travel.

YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB IF

YOU’LL BE DOING

Young Lions 

  • Coordinate and manage daily operational activities of Young Lions programme. 

  • In collaboration with the Pathway team, efficiently plan for all Young Lions training camps and overseas tours. 

  • Maintain and update the Young Lions player records and personal data. 

  • Manage the Young Lions operational budget and provide timely updates on expenditure to the Pathway Leadership Team.  

  • Act as Safeguarding Lead for the Young Lions squad, and alongside the England U19 Head Coach ensure that a safe environment is created for the players. 

  • In collaboration with the Performance Operations Manager, liaise with overseas cricket boards and the ICC to organise both future home and overseas tours.  

ECB Performance Centre 

  • Support the Lead Performance Centre manager in the efficient planning and organisation of the Performance Centre.  

  • Assist with bookings, meeting requests and any other Performance Centre activity as directed by the Lead Performance Centre manager.   

  • Assist in the project management of any planned upgrades to the facilities.  

  • Support the integration of all ECB Performance Centre users including England Men, England Women, England Disability Cricket, Sports Science and Medicine and ECB Coach Development.  

Performance Project Support 

  • Work alongside the men’s Performance Director, and other members of the men’s Pathway Leadership team in planning and executing specific projects that require operational and administrative support i.e. Project Pace.  

  • Where required support the men’s Performance Leadership team in meetings and events to ensure key information is capture and shared both internally and externally.  

YOU’LL HAVE

  • A proven ability to be able to communicate clearly and effectively – both in writing and orally. 

  • Outstanding organisational and administrative skills. 

  • Experience in working with teams, groups and individuals.  

  • Rigorous attention to detail. 

  • Ability to manage and deliver projects on time. 

  • Strong financial planning and monitoring experience.   

  • A team player and collaborative approach to the achievement of the teams objectives. 

  • Good all-round IT skills. 

  • Discretion in handling sensitive issues and confidential information. 

  • Ability to work autonomously and confidently make decisions and solve complex issues on the spot. 

  • Able to demonstrate sensitivity, calmness and is politically, culturally, socially and religiously aware. 

  • Strong understanding of venues operations and logistics. 

  • Flexible to work in changing environments where requirements change at very short notice. 

  • Knowledge of cricket would be useful. 

  • A clean DBS, knowledge of safeguarding practices and prior experience of working with adolescents would be advantageous.
