Role Summary:Deliver high-quality live sound reinforcement for Sofar shows.Collaborate with crew teams and artists for show preparation and execution.Transport personal audio equipment to and from various venues.Set up and dismantle audio gear before and after shows, maintaining appropriate sound levels.
Role Requirements:Experience in DIY live audio setups for small capacity shows.Understanding of live sound gear and audio production.A passion for live sound and the ability to solve problems creatively in unique settings.Strong communication skills and comfort working with creative individuals.Capability to troubleshoot under pressure.Ability to handle physical demands of equipment transportation.

As an Audio Engineer at Sofar, you’ll bring the magic on the sound desk at local shows throughout London. Our shows are intimate and all about the music – which makes the sound that much more important. Working with our local crew teams, you’ll ensure that our Sofar shows sound incredible and artists sets go off without a hitch. We work in some pretty cool and unexpected places, so you may need to get creative depending on the venue!
*Please note that our contract audio engineers are expected to work 1-2 shows per week, and the majority of our shows take place on evenings and weekends. We are looking for someone to start immediately.*
What you'll do:
Provide live sound reinforcement for Sofar shows Work with the crew team & artists to prep and execute each show Transport your own gear to and from the venue Reference our concert portal to ensure you have the right gear for each unique artist setup Set up and load-in audio equipment at the beginning of the show Break down and load out audio equipment at the end of the show Maintain safe and appropriate audio levels for the venue and audience sizeWho you are:
You have experience with DIY live audio setups, ideally at 50+ cap shows You have a basic understanding of live sound reinforcement gear and audio production You have a passion for live sound & creative problem solving – especially in unique venues!
