Role Summary:
- Forge strong connections with internal and external partners.
- Engage in month-end reporting and oversee key financial processes with the Director of Financial Control.
- Coordinate with outsourced bookkeeping services across the UK, US, and Australia.
- Handle Accounts Payable and general accounting for multiple entities.
- Participate in cash forecasting and treasury management.
- Contribute to local audits, tax filings, and maintenance of the accounting system.
- Lead strategic projects, including an upcoming upgrade to the accounting system.
Role Requirements:
- Degree-level education with ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualifications.
- Knowledge of UK, IFRS, or US GAAP is preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision 2015/Business Central is a plus.
- Expertise in Excel and a background in both practice accounting and private company experience.
- Rail industry knowledge is beneficial but not mandatory.

The RoleÂ
We’re searching for a Manager of Financial Control to join our global finance department and manage our reporting requirements. You will be joining a finance team based in the UK, but working for a business with offices in Boston, Brisbane and Stockholm. Part of the role will involve business partnering with teams in these locations.
The role will report into the Director of Financial Control. As the business is entering a key growth phase, it’s a unique opportunity to influence and develop the strategic and operational direction of a crucial area of the business.
Our successful candidate will have superior critical thinking skills, with strong attention to detail, and thrive on working independently.

Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersÂ
- Work with the Director of Financial Control to complete month-end reporting requirements; this will include determining accounting entries for the month, preparing the consolidated accounts, preparing and reviewing key balance sheet reconciliationsÂ
- Liaise with our outsourcing partners in the UK, US and Australia who manage our bookkeeping to ensure all entries are included each monthÂ
- Manage the Accounts Payable function and general accounting for 3 entities, based in the UK, US and AustraliaÂ
- Responsible for cash forecasting and working with the Director of Financial Control on Treasury ManagementÂ
- Assist in management of local audits and tax filingsÂ
- Maintenance of the accounting system including report building and setting up new GL codesÂ
- Opportunities to lead on strategic projects as the business continues to grow, including the upgrading of our accounting system scheduled for Q3/Q4

Required Competence and Skills
- Educated to graduate or post graduate levelÂ
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified essential – would suit a recently qualified individualÂ
- UK, IFRS or US GAAP knowledge preferredÂ
- Experience of using Microsoft Dynamics Navision 2015 or Microsoft Business Central would be advantageousÂ
- Knowledge/experience of rail industry useful but not essentialÂ
- Intermediate to Expert in ExcelÂ
- Ideally, we’re looking for someone with a mix of practice accounting and private company experience
