Volunteer Trustee (Legal)

What will you be doing?

Ideally, working alongside the fellow trustees, you will be able to formulate a plan to enable us to satisfy the requirements of the UK Charity Commission.  This may entail interpretation of guidance, amending our Articles of Association and translating legalese for our non-law minded Trustees.

Advise on any changes that might be needed to our Articles of Association in order for our charity application to be accepted by the Charity Commission. Lead the application process for registration with the Charity Commission. Act as Company Secretary, preparing agendas and taking accurate minutes at quarterly board meetings, capturing key decisions and ensuring the Articles of Association and proper procedures are being followed. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date information on the Board of Trustees and officers.

What are we looking for?

A strong legal background, ideally with knowledge of the Charity Sector and experience of registration with the Charity Commission Proven knowledge of good governance practices and ideally also knowledge of charity regulations Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents. Strong organisational, time management, and attention to detail skills. Passion for environmental sustainability and the mission of The Greener Earth Project.
