What will you be doing?
As a small, grass-roots organisation, SMP needs a strong, committed Trustee Board consisting of Trustees with a wide range of skills, to support the Director, ensure that the organisation is secure and sustainable, and develop and lead strategy.
What are we looking for?
A commitment to the organisation and a willingness to devote the necessary time and effort Strategic vision Good, independent judgement An ability to think creatively A willingness to speak their mind An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship An ability to work effectively as a member of a team A commitment to Nolan’s seven principles of public life: selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership. A connection to, or understanding of, the area in which St Matthew's operates (Lambeth).
Note that the specific skills highlighted in the section below are only examples of one or more skills that a successful applicant might have:
Experience of fundraising and business development within a charity or a community-based organisation or social enterprise Lived experience of the kinds of issues experienced by SMP’s service-users. What difference will you make?
As part of our Board you will help support the organisation as it continues to thrive and expand into new areas of work to better-support young people in its target area.
