Role Summary
- Manage and develop the portfolio of longitudinal studies, cohorts, and research resources as part of the Discovery Research Programme.
- Identify and capitalise on emerging opportunities within the field of population health research.
- Deliver high-impact activities in alignment with the wider aims of population health research at Wellcome.
Role Requirements
- Significant experience and knowledge of population health research.
- Experience of setting up and delivering high profile, strategic initiatives with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to develop and negotiate partnerships internationally in public or private sectors.
- Experience of managing projects and/or people across different areas of expertise.

The Discovery Research (DR) team works to manage and develop our portfolio of activities which includes individual researchers and teams supported through our funding schemes, as well as the world-leading institutes and initiatives we support through a more targeted approach.
We are now looking for a Research Lead to develop the portfolio with a particular focus on population health research. Wellcome has a long-standing track record and interest in supporting this field of research, notably with a focus on longitudinal population health studies.
In this role you will: Oversee and develop the portfolio of longitudinal studies, cohorts and research resources that are managed through the Discovery Research Programme. Identify and devise approaches to capitalise on emerging opportunities within the field of population health research. Deliver high-impact activities in line with the wider aims of population health research at Wellcome.
To be successful in this role you will have: Proven significant experience and knowledge of population health research. Experience of setting up and delivering high profile, strategic initiatives with multi-disciplinary teams at a variety of scales. Demonstrated ability to develop and negotiate partnerships with key individuals and organisations internationally in public or private sectors. Experience of managing projects and/or people across different areas of expertise.
