We are looking for Job coach volunteers to support people with learning disabilities to find work or get closer to employment. This is a Face to Face role based in Leeds.

What will you be doing?

People Matters runs an employment workshop, job search group and a trainee/work experience programmes for people who face barriers to find employment. This may include learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, other hidden disabilities etc. Job coach volunteers have an important role in these group activities, working as a team with the group staff to support members. Skills/knowledge/experience around supported employment, social care, teaching, reasonable adjustments and IT-skills will be helpful in this role. Tasks may include:

supporting members with CV-writing, cover letters, job searching & applications helping members to prepare for job interviews assisting trainees in our social enterprise, Nourishing People, with different business related tasks

This is a weekly role, based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Currently we are have group running at the below times - volunteers usually only attend one of the time slots (same time and day every week):

Tuesdays (10.30am-3.30pm / 10.30pm-1.30pm / 1.30pm-3.30pm),  Thursdays (10.30am - 3.30pm) and  Fridays (10.30am - 3.30pm).

What are we looking for?

Skills/knowledge/experience around supported employment, social care, teaching, reasonable adjustments and IT-skills will be helpful in this role.

Strong communication skills Ability to guide others through tasks and explain instructions in different ways Teamwork skills Person-centred approach Interested in supporting other people's personal development Being openminded and patient Knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes, like Word
