Volunteer Chair of the Board of Trustees

What will you be doing?

SYLA is seeking a new Chair of the Board of Trustees. This is an exciting chapter of SYLA’s growth journey, and the Chair role plays a critical role in overseeing the strategic direction of the organisation and ensuring the effective governance and leadership of SYLA.

What are we looking for?

As the right candidate, you will have:

Have held (or currently holds) a senior leadership position in a private, public, or third sector organisation A strong and visible commitment to supporting young people from underrepresented backgrounds to lead exceptional lives Demonstrated experience in strategic leadership, governance, and working collaboratively in a high performing executive or non-executive team Strong networking capabilities that can be utilised for the benefit of the charity Significant experience of chairing executive and/or non-executive meetings Legal eligibility to stand as a registered Company Director and Charity Trustee Previous experience as CEO or Chair of a voluntary, private or public organisation is an advantage
