What will you be doing?
Are you able to attend a meeting once a term with other, like-minded people who care about having an impact on education? We are looking for new members to join our Torbay Advisory Hub to support the school’s leadership team to make improvements and ensure we are operating in the best way possible. Members of the Hub generally come from the local community to share their skills and passion for the success of our schools. No special qualifications are needed but it would be good if volunteers have experience in any of the following; teaching, education, governance, business, finance, chairing meetings. The most important thing is to have a keen interest in education and be prepared to play an active part.
What are we looking for?
Candidates would ideally have 3+ years experience in any of the following; education, teaching, social care, safeguarding, special needs, business, finance, personnel, procurement, estates, health & safety, being part of a board or working in the local community.
What difference will you make?
The role is strategic rather than operational. Governors don’t get involved with the day to day running of a school, instead supporting and challenging the school’s leadership team to drive school improvement and enable all children to flourish and be the best that they can be.
