Better Society Capital is hiring a new investment manager to help us deliver key portfolio activities from performance management of portfolio investments through to generating portfolio insights and optimising the use of our capital. This is a varied role working as part of the team delivering our impact investment management activities across our new and portfolio investments.
The role entails supporting the delivery of performance management in our portfolio, including underperformance management, specific special situations, and performance management for select portfolio deals from onboarding to exit. You will also support our approach to capital optimisation, active pipeline management across all investment sub-strategies, and our overarching relationship management approach with our portfolio.
Job requirements include structured thinking, ability to deal with complexity and uncertainty, innovative and creative problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a hunger for continued learning and development. Experience in undertaking detailed analysis, particularly financial analysis, and work experience that faces the financial, social or public sector is essential. Knowledge of investing in real estate, venture, credit, renewables or outcome contracts is desirable.
We offer a unique opportunity to accelerate your career in social impact investing through Better Society Capital’s Development Programme for Investment Managers. This includes stretching on-the-job activities, in-house training, observing our investment committee, and external training and qualification opportunities.

Candidates must have existing right to work in the UK for this role. We are committed to being a diverse organisation that is truly representative of the communities we serve. We therefore welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, particularly those under-represented in the social impact investment sector.
