Role Summary
- Produce digital images of objects in the AOA collection.
- Process and match images to MI+ collections database records.
- Verify descriptions and locations, and upload images to the Museum's image asset system.
- Plan the imaging of the collection, liaising with relevant curators and collection managers.
Role Requirements
- A level (or equivalent) education.
- Expertise in collections management databases and Adobe Photoshop.
- Confident use of digital cameras and scanners.
- Ability to instruct others in photographic processes.
- Interest in collections from Africa, Oceania and the Americas (desirable).

The role of the Imaging Assistant is to produce digital images of objects in the AOA collection, process images, match them to MI+ collections management database records and verify the descriptions and location, and upload them to the Museum’s image asset management system. You will work with other staff in AOA to plan the imaging of the collection in the quickest and most efficient manner, liaising with relevant curators and collection managers.
Job requirements include A level (or equivalent) education, experience of and expertise in collections management databases and Adobe Photoshop, confident use of digital cameras and scanners, and the ability to instruct others in photographic processes. An interest in collections from Africa, Oceania and the Americas is desirable.
