Role Summary

  • As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate, you will provide pro-active, high quality support to victims of domestic violence and abuse through ongoing risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy and practical assistance.
  • The role involves making initial contact with victims, explaining our services and assessing the impact of crime, as well as handling referrals for ongoing case management.
  • You will be working within a multi-agency framework with various partners and the MARAC when necessary.

Role Requirements

  • The role entails developing, delivering and monitoring Individual Safety and Support Plans targeting those affected by domestic abuse.
  • The support offered focuses on a risk-led approach, as well as advocating for clients after assessing their situation comprehensively.

Organisation: Victim Support (VS) is an independent charity. We are dedicated to supporting people affected by crime and traumatic incidents in England and Wales.

The Role: We are looking for 2 x Independent Domestic Violence Advocates, co-located within London Hospitals. The role is to provide pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic violence and abuse through on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy and practical support. You may make initial contact with victims of crime, explaining our services and assessing the impact of crime, or receive referrals from colleagues, in order to provide on-going support and case management. You will work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and multi agency partners when required.

Job Requirements: To develop, deliver, and monitor Individual Safety and Support Plans for those affected by domestic abuse. Support will focus on a risk led approach as well as representing the voice of clients based on a holistic assessment of impact and risk, within the framework of VS’s Service Model.

Benefits: The role offers a compensation of £26,010-£28,050 per year.
