About Tiny Supercomputer Investment Company (“TSIC”)
We believe great founders have the ability to change the world for the better. We exist to catalyse that change by backing great companies when they are tiny.
Since 2017, we have backed over 450 companies; 74 new companies in 2024 alone. We are especially proud of our 900+ founder and LP community, including many of Europe’s most ambitious founders and funders.
We do all this by staying lean and using technology for leverage. “Stay Tiny” isn’t about size - it’s a mindset that shapes how we think and act.
Our scale means finance, operations and automation are critical to our firm. We are looking for a pragmatic, creative, and output focused individual.
Your Mission - scaling finance and operations, whilst keeping us compliant
As a core member of our Finance and Operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring financial stability and operational excellence at an FCA authorised investment firm. In addition, you will directly support strategic decisions that drive the firm’s growth and success.
More specifically this will include the following areas of work:
- Overseeing the financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting (across 700+ investments), budgeting, and forecasting. This main work is split across various activities:
- Fund accounting: Continually keeping our data and documents in shape
- Audit & tax preparation: Managing auditors and the audit process, liaising with advisors
- Entity management: Keeping our various fund and firm entities in business
- Banking and treasury: Wiring investments, paying invoices, and managing our accounts
- Onboarding investments and fund investors: Managing KYC processes and closing flows
- Leading initiatives to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal compliance standards, helping mitigate risk across financial and operational processes.
- Collaborating and managing external parties to implement new systems, and optimise workflows that drive both financial and operational innovation.
- Using the latest tools and technologies to help us and yourself scale.
Experience & expectations
- You’re a UK qualified accountant.
- You possess strong analytical skills and are able to quickly identify discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement.
- You are responsive and adaptable - you will be operating in a fast, shifting and ambiguous environment. Your day could involve cashflow monitoring, assisting with investor relations, liaising with external suppliers, and helping founders with cap tables.
- Your excellent communication skills allow you to work well with a variety of stakeholders, from auditors, external regulators, investors to founders.
- As long as the core responsibilities are covered, there’s a lot to learn: Sit in on investment pitches, understand investment legals, represent us at industry events.
