Common Seas is an impactful organization devoted to tackling the issue of plastic pollution via educational solutions. We are searching for an Education Officer whose main task would be to expand our outreach to schools and fuel understanding and action towards this global problem. The role includes:
- Coordinating and conducting engaging teacher training events and conferences
- Facilitating the use of Common Seas Education resources in schools
- Assisting schools in achieving the Plastic Clever Schools award
Applicants must have:
- At least 2 years' experience in education within Greece
- Strong understanding of teacher needs and school networks
- Experience in shaping effective targeted outreach
- Superior presentation skills and comfort addressing various audiences

Common Seas is seeking an Education Officer who will play a crucial role in expanding our reach and inspiring action and understanding on tackling plastic pollution in schools. The successful applicant will need to have proven experience of delivering workshops to a broad education audience, including both students and teachers. It’s important that they have a good understanding of teacher needs and school networking as well as the ability to effectively engage with schools through targeted outreach efforts.
The role entails coordinating and delivering engaging teacher training events and conferences (online and in-person), equipping educators and facilitating the implementation of Common Seas Education materials. The Education Officer will also support schools in the completion of the Plastic Clever Schools award through the delivery of digital and in-person activities (including assemblies and workshops for students) and digital submission of evidence.
Job requirements include a minimum of 2 years' experience working in education (formal or informal setting) in Greece, a strong understanding of teacher needs and networks, and experience in shaping effective targeted outreach. Excellent presentation skills and confidence speaking to a range of audiences (online and in person) are also required.
