Bryt Energy is a forward-thinking company invested in the progress of Energy Transition business. As part of their expansion, they are seeking an Optimisation Desk Manager to lead the operation and management of the critical Optimisation Desk under the Cost & Risk team in their Commercial department.

Role Summary:

  • Management of the Optimisation Desk
  • Improvement and maintenance of the Optimisation Engine
  • Managing market trading relationships
  • Provision of exceptional customer service
  • Maintenance and setup of asset databases



Role Requirements:

  • Degree qualification in a STEM or related subject or relevant experience in an energy/trading environment
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to understand complex problems and datasets
  • Experience in building models
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of PowerBI, SQL, Python, or another coding language is beneficial
  • Demonstrated leadership skills

We are Bryt Energy, a company dedicated to the development of our Energy Transition business. We are currently expanding our team and are looking for an Optimisation Desk Manager to join us.

The role will be based in our Commercial department, specifically within the Cost & Risk team. The Optimisation Desk is a crucial part of our business, and the new role of Optimisation Desk Manager will be responsible for its day-to-day management and reporting. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Cost & Risk and will be leading a small team of analysts.

Your main responsibilities will include the operation and management of Bryt Energy’s Optimisation Desk, maintaining and improving our Optimisation Engine, managing market trading relationships, providing excellent customer service, and setting up and maintaining asset databases. You will also be tasked with modelling new opportunities for optimisation, attending meetings with customers/partners, keeping abreast of new services and regulatory changes, and providing market updates for clients and prospective clients.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, the ability to understand complex problems and datasets, and the ability to instigate and deliver change. You should also have proven ability to construct high quality models and/or optimisation engines from scratch, excellent attention to detail, effective and adaptable communication skills, and managerial expertise.

In terms of education and training, you should be qualified to degree level (preferably in a STEM or related subject) or have relevant experience in an energy/trading environment. Advanced Excel skills are essential, and knowledge of PowerBI, SQL, Python or other coding language would be highly desirable.
