Role Summary -

  • Lead financial planning and analysis function, overseeing budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes.
  • Shape and develop the management accounting team, and enhance financial understanding organisation-wide.
  • Act as strategic financial partner to senior leaders, providing pivotal insight and analysis.
  • Oversee financial management across all directorates, support the CFO in preparing financial reports, and lead the monthly, year-end, and statutory accounts and audit activities.

Role Requirements -

  • CCAB qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience leading management accounting and financial planning teams in a complex charity or commercial organisation.
  • Deep understanding and experience with finance systems, monthly management accounts, and financial partnering.
  • Excellent communication skills, stakeholder management abilities, and the capacity to influence and challenge constructively.

The role: As the Head of Management Accounts, you will lead our financial planning and analysis function. You will shape and develop the management accounting team, lead business partnering activity, and strengthen financial understanding across the organisation. This role involves acting as a strategic financial partner to senior leaders, providing crucial insight and analysis that inform strategic and operational decision-making. You will also oversee financial management across all directorates, support the CFO in preparing financial reports, and lead the monthly management accounts, year-end process, audit activity, and statutory reporting.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a CCAB qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent international qualification) and proven experience leading management accounting and financial planning teams in a complex charity or commercial organisation. You should have significant experience in developing and reviewing monthly management accounts, an excellent understanding of finance systems, and demonstrable experience in financial partnering. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
