The Ramblers is Britain’s walking charity dedicated to opening the way for everyone to enjoy the simple pleasures of walking and protecting the places we love to wander. We are currently seeking a Legal Casework Manager to join our Programmes and Delivery team. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to work from home and our offices in either London or Cardiff.

The role: As a Legal Casework Manager, you will lead the development and operational delivery of our Legal Casework programme. This includes assessing and selecting cases, developing a pipeline of legal actions to protect and expand the rights of way network, and liaising with external legal advisers. You will also provide specialist advice on rights of way law and practice, support and train volunteers, and ensure our legal casework aligns with our strategic goals.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have expertise in rights of way law and practice, experience working with external legal professionals, and the ability to draft and proof-read legal documents. Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex legal information clearly are essential. You should also be capable of independent work as well as collaborative efforts to meet common goals.

Benefits: We offer a competitive salary range of £33,367 to £41,709, depending on skills and experience. Additional benefits include free Ramblers membership upon joining, flexible/hybrid working options, pension contributions, a season ticket loan, 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays, a Christmas office closure, a cycle scheme, and an employee assistance program.
