Volunteer Join Our Green Team: Volunteer Bookkeeper Needed!

What will you be doing?

We're looking for a dedicated, UK-based individual to help us manage our finances, including for grant reporting, and support our mission to empower people to live and work more sustainably. As a volunteer bookkeeper you will dedicate around 6-8 hours a month to ensuring we maintain accurate financial records, implement good financial practices, and build a positive profile with potential donors. This is crucial to enable us to pursue follow-up funding opportunities, including for the roll-out and expansion of our E-Save app, a tool designed provide practical advice and small, achievable changes to help users cut household bills and reduce their carbon footprint.

What are we looking for?

Responsibilities:

Recording financial transactions; Maintaining records; Paying & issuing invoices; VAT accounting and submission; PAYE management; Preparing annual accounts; Bank reconciliation; Tracking grant expenditure; Developing and operating payment authorisation procedures; Recording transactions; Preparing basic financial reports.

Experience:

Good working knowledge of spreadsheets; Attention to detail and accuracy; Strong organisational skills; Ability to work independently and manage your workload; Knowledge of financial regulations and procedures (preferred but not essential); Knowledge of bookkeeping software.
