Volunteer Join Our Green Team: Volunteer Treasurer Needed!

What will you be doing?

We're looking for an experienced, skilled, enthusiastic and UK-based individual to volunteer 6-8 hours of their time per month to support our ambitious projects and organisational development.  As volunteer Treasurer, you will provide financial oversight and play a key role in our financial governance, ensuring bookkeeping and other financial tasks are delivered. Your expertise will ensure we maintain accurate financial records, implement financial best practices, meet compliance requirements, provide accurate forecasts, and protect assets. This is crucial to enable us to pursue follow-up funding opportunities, including for the roll-out and expansion of our Eco-Save app, a tool designed provide practical advice and small, achievable changes to help users cut household bills and reduce their carbon footprint.

What are we looking for?

Responsibilities:

Overseeing financial governance and ensuring accurate bookkeeping; Preparing annual accounts; Budgeting and forecasting; Establishing and supervising treasury policies; In the absence of the bookkeeper: Undertaking standard bookkeeping duties, including managing VAT accounting and PAYE; Ensuring regulatory and stakeholder compliance.

Experience:

Fully qualified chartered accountant (preferred) or other appropriate financial qualifications and experience; Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and bookkeeping software); Attention to detail and accuracy; Ability to analyse proposals and examine their financial impacts: Ability to work independently and manage your workload; Working knowledge of financial regulations and procedures; Experience in charity or voluntary sector finance (preferred but not essential); Working knowledge of financial modelling (preferred but not essential).
