Volunteer Fundraising and Marketing Trustee

What will you be doing?

You will be working with our Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator to bring a fresh perspective to our fundraising strategy. You will be a part of the Fundraising sub-committee which will meet as needed between Trustee meetings.  You will also be required to report to  the Chief Officer and the Trustee Board.  We are specifically looking for support with the  following activities:

Assisting the Fundraising Coordinator to assess where fundraising fits into the overall strategy and to ensure effective income generation  Contribute knowledge of fundraising and marketing  tools, techniques and strategies Ensure that all fundraising activities are carried out in a legal, honest and accountable way and in line with the Fundraising Regulator's Code of Fundraising.  Encourage an entrepreneurial fundraising culture and assist in assessing the cost benefit ratio of funding streams.  Assist with day to day tasks relating to marketing events 

What are we looking for?

Essential Qualities 

Experience of fundraising, income generation and marketing  An understanding or proven experience in grant and trusts fundraising streams would be an advantage An understanding of legacy fundraising would be an advantage  An understanding of the challenges facing small UK charities in maximising income streams and donor cultivation Strong networking  and communication skills.  An understanding of all current and relevant social media platforms. An understanding of social media scheduling platforms such as Hootsuite and marketing platform Mailchimp would also be of benefit.  Confidence in reaching out to corporate organisations and local businesses for support with events and fundraising Experience in developing a Corporate Relationship strategy would be and advantage

What difference will you make?

You will be part of a small team who are passionate about Age Concern Epsom and Ewell and the services we provide to the local older population.  You will be pivotal in helping the Charity to decide what forms of fundraising to pursue and to market those effectively. These will help increase the profile of Age Concern and provide a sustainable  income stream. Without new income streams our charity has a limited future.  We need your help to ensure that we are here to provide the essential services that make such a difference to many older people in the Borough of Epsom and Ewell.
