Role Summary:

  • The Team Leader will help in recruitment, development, engagement and performance management.
  • The role involves overseeing and delivering high standards of animal welfare while supporting the journey of the dogs from intake, care, assessment and rehoming.

Role Requirements:

  • The person for the role must have experience in motivating, managing and developing a high-performance team.
  • They should have knowledge of dog behaviour and proven experience in providing advice on dog behaviour and training.

Battersea is a charity that aims to never turn away a dog or cat in need of help. We provide each animal with love, expert care, and get to know their characters and quirks so we can find them a new home that’s just right for them. We are currently looking to recruit a Team Leader for our Old Windsor dog intake team. This role is based at our Old Windsor centre.

The Role: Our Dog Operations team is responsible for delivering the highest standards of animal welfare and care for every dog in their journey through Battersea, from intake, to their care and assessments and then to rehoming. The Team Leader will be responsible for recruitment, development, engagement and performance management of the team, ensuring that they have sufficient training, support and resource to carry out their roles effectively.

Job Requirements: The ideal candidate would be someone who has experience of successfully motivating, managing and developing a high-performance team, including setting clearly defined objectives and managing performance, and working knowledge of the behaviour of dogs and the challenges they face in a rescue environment with proven experience of providing advice on dog behaviour and training.
