Role Summary

  • Coordinate planning and management of the Trust's contributions to the Northern Forest.
  • Work on landscape scale partnerships across various community forests between Liverpool and Hull, with focus on areas like restoring ancient woodland and creating new woodland.
  • Account management with Defra for various funded initiatives.
  • Travel in the North of England and occasional visits to the head office in Lincolnshire.

Role Requirements

  • Previous experience in nature recovery projects on a landscape scale.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships.

THE ROLE: As the Northern Forest Project Manager, you will coordinate the planning and management of the Woodland Trust's contributions to the Northern Forest. This role involves working on a landscape scale partnership across several community forests from Liverpool to Hull, focusing on areas such as ancient woodland restoration and new woodland creation. You will be responsible for building project proposals, facilitating funding bids, and acting as the account manager with Defra for various funded programs. This position requires travel within the North of England and occasional visits to our head office in Grantham, Lincolnshire.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate will have a passion for the environment and possess extensive experience in project coordination and management across all stages, from inception to evaluation. Experience in developing project proposals, managing grant programs, and working on landscape-scale nature recovery projects is essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships are also crucial for this role.
