About The AVOCADO Foundation    The AVOCADO Foundation is a social enterprise that operates in the UK and overseas. We are on a mission to eradicate the economic inequalities experienced by youth, entrepreneurs and non-profit organisations, from underrepresented communities. We envision a world where no one is poor because of the colour of their skin or their ethnicity. We started out as Money4YOUth in 2014 and rebranded to Money4YOU in 2020 to reflect our expanded focus and reach and finally rebranded to The AVOCADO Foundation in June 2024 to better reflect our mission, vision and values, as well as to align with our trademark registration.     Job purpose:   We are seeking a motivated Fundraising Volunteer to assist in identifying and securing funding through trusts, foundations, corporates, and government sources. This role also involves supporting the planning and execution of fundraising events, offering an excellent opportunity to develop skills in fundraising and donor engagement.  Key Responsibilities: 

Research and identify funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, corporates, and government bodies.  Assist with preparing and submitting fundraising applications and bids.  Support the planning and execution of fundraising events, including logistics, promotion, and donor engagement.  Maintain an up-to-date record of funding sources and opportunities.  Help build and maintain relationships with potential funders and partners.  Track and report on fundraising performance and impact. 

What are we looking for?

What we are looking for 

An interest in the charity sector and a passion for supporting the foundation's mission.  Fundraising experience. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).  Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).  Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.  Must have own laptop and use of the internet.  Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.  Attention to detail and ability to work with data to produce accurate reports.  An interest in fundraising in the charity sector.  Knowledge of Salesforce is desirable.
